tintinnabulation noun the ringing or sound of bells

In some of the folklore that surrounds Hyx's job as Death's Messenger, there's often an association between his arrival and the ringing of bells. Sometimes it's nothing more than a faint jingle and other times it's much louder, like the knelling of church bells. Hyx can't control it, but suspects it's a quirk of Death's odd sense of humor--the sound the equivalent of an invisible cat bell collar.
